CSFileshare User Manual.

Logging in.

To manage CSFileshare go to http://www.yourdomain.com/cgi-script/CSFileshare/CSFileshare.cgi?command=login replacing the URL with the actual location of your installation.

Drive Management

Click on the 'Manage' button to enter the drive management. From this screen you can add, edit or delete a drive.

To add a drive, click on the 'Add a Drive' button.

1. Name of shared drive. Use alpha-numeric characters only.
2. Enter a description of the drive
3. File Type Limits: You can restrict the file extensions that users are allowed to upload. It is highly suggested that you only allow safe files to be uploaded. For example, a non-trusted could upload a php program to your site if you don't limit the file extensions.
4. Automatic Purge: This allows you to set the number of days before files are automatically removed from the drive.
5. Number of upload fields: This allows you to specify how many files a user can upload at the same time on the upload form. If you enter 5 in this field, then 5 upload fields will be available on the upload form.
6. Email notification of uploads: Enter an email address (or multiple email addresses comma separated) in this field if you want to be notified when a file has been uploaded. Leave this field blank if you don't want email notification.

User Management

In the drive management screen, click on the User Management button to manage the users.

Click the Add User button to add a new user to the system. The user levels are described as follows:

Admin: full access to all the drives and user management. Admins get permission to all drives and have all privileges on all the drives.
User: Does not have access to any admin functions (drive mangement, user management).
Drive Access: Listed at the bottom of the screen will be all the current drives configured in CSFileshare. Click the checkbox next to the drive name if you would like the user to have access to the drive (view access). Specify additional privileges by checking the appropriate checkbox. The privileges are as follows:
Upload: Allow the user to upload fields.
Delete: Allow the user to delete files and directories.
Create Dir: Allow user to create a new directory.

Drive Usage

When a user first logs in, they will see a list of drives they have access to. If the user has access to a single drive then they will automatically enter that drive without seeing the list of drives.

Once entering the drive, the user will see the files uploaded and depending on their privileges they will see a File Upload link, Create Directory Link, and a delete icon next to each file/directory.

To view the file, simply click on the file's description. To be prompted to download the file, click on the document icon to the far left of the file.
